Description
A hearty one-pot crockpot meal combining frozen cheddar pierogies, savory pork-free kielbasa, and a creamy cheese sauce. Slow-cooked to perfection, it offers rich Polish-American flavors with minimal effort.
Ingredients
Mrs. T’s Cheddar Pierogies, 3 packages (48 oz total)
Chicken Broth, 4 cups (low-sodium)
Cream Cheese, 1 block (8 oz), cut into cubes
Shredded Cheddar Cheese, 1 cup (sharp)
Kielbasa (beef or turkey), 1 pound, sliced into half-inch rounds
Salt and Pepper, to taste
Instructions
Slice kielbasa into uniform rounds and grease the slow cooker.
Place frozen pierogies directly into the pot without thawing.
Pour chicken broth over the pierogies, then top with kielbasa slices.
Add cream cheese cubes and shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Season with salt and pepper.
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours until tender and cheeses have melted into a creamy sauce.
Notes
Use non-pork kielbasa to meet dietary restrictions.
Do not thaw frozen pierogies before adding.
Low-sodium broth prevents over-salting.
Stir gently before serving if cheese sauce clumps.
